Albir Night Life
Albir offers plenty of bars and restaurants with live music and entertainement in the evenings so there is usually something for everyone to enjoy. If you need more, a visit to the party capital of the Med, Benidorm is a mere 10 minutes drive down the road where you will find non stop parties, all night disco's and for the more liberated visitor, there are always the sex shows.
The first week of July is perhaps one of the best times to visit Albir since the Casa de Cultura in the adjacent town of Alfas plays host to the International Film Festival bringing with it a host of famous film stars.
Just outside Albir on the Benidorm road is the Castillo del Conde de Alfaz.
This is a spectacular venue for the whole family to enjoy as they are entertained by the medieval knights showing off their impressive skills of horsemanship and jousting. The ticket price is inclusive of a medieval supper and also a visit to the mad monks dungeons. Then if you're still not ready to go home, you can dance the night away with the disco afterwards that goes right on into the small hours.
There are several fiestas taking place throughout the year. March 19th see's the locals celebrating the feast of San Jose while the first weekend of August stages parades and street dancing with fiestas on the beach. One of the largest events of the year is the Feast of Holy Christ, with music, processions and fireworks held between the 7th & 10th November.
The Costa Blanca Casino is one of the largest casinos in Spain, and you’ll find it on the road between Benidorm and Villajoyosa (near the hospital turning). There’s also a restaurant and bar. There is a dress code, dress is smart casual so no shorts and tee shirts. There’s an admission charge of around 10 Euro, and you’ll need your passport/photo ID. Some game tables available are French roulette, American roulette, black jack, chemin de fer, punto y blanco and more… The casino also host shows, so check local press for these.
