Altea just a few kilometres north of Albir is a quiet resort with lots to do and see around the old town and seafront. The Palau Altea Centre d'Arts offers a variety of entertainment and activities for both the locals and holiday visitors. The restaurants are of high quality and serve a local and international range of dishes. The cobbled streets of the old town lead up to a beautiful blue & white domed church where you can enjoy the lovely view of the bay. Altea is also home to one of the largest markets on the Costa Blanca. The seafront esplanade plays host to the market every Tuesday and is a great place to purchase designer items at very affordable prices. Altea has an artistic feel to it and the small shops sell art and handicrafts which is of no surprise as it was once a magnet for artists and musicians from all over Europe. Altea offers plenty of accommodation in the form of one, two and three bedroom apartments and is ideal for anyone looking for a lager-lout free zone on the Spanish Costa Blanca.
