The main hospital where you are most likely to end up at is VILLAJOYOSA, Pla d'Aljuv. This hospital is about 10km from Benidorm. You can get emergency treatment on a E111 form and claim any charges if any incurred from your holiday insurance. This Hospital is under a major refurb to which has been carried out with the minimal disruption and is very well equipped to handle any emergency. There seems to be many doctors who can speak English so communication should not be too stressful. Please remember you are in Spain and things are done differently, but in most cases treatment is fast and effective.

The Costa Blanca has some great radio stations that not only play great music but are a fantastic source for local information like local events, news, and weather reports. One of the best ways to get around in comfort if you do not drive / hire a car is by Taxi. Most Hotel/Apartment reception’s will only be too happy to call you a taxi if you require. (Some may charge a few cent to cover phone call). The taxi's are nearly all white with a rooftop taxi display sign and all have a number on the side to identify your taxi that has been dispatched for you. In Albir you will find that they are of a good standard and very clean. By standard I mean there are a lot of Mercedes and other marquee cars been used so the ride is sometimes that bit special. They do take pride in their taxi’s, always cleaning them in the sun. You will also find that they are helpful and polite like the one in the photo, most speaking a bit of English. Enough to understand where you want to go.
can fluctuate depending on the time of year and also note the price goes up when it is a fiesta day (Similar to a bank holiday).
Typical aprox. price guide from Albir to: (Please note: Max persons 4 per Taxi and is a one way fare.)
Benidorm - 6 – 7 Euro
Terimitica - 15 Euro
Altea - 8 Euro
Alicante Airport - 70 Euro
El Cisne Market - 6 Euro
Hotel/apartment receptions may be able to help; they usually have a good idea of aprox prices for short popular taxi journeys.
